I happen to have some of the world’s finickiest eaters in my family, and it does not help that they are all below the age of eleven. Their age makes it more difficult to persuade them to try new dishes, or to explain why one meal not including chicken nuggets will not kill them.

Perhaps you are familiar with such interactions, and have yourself tried to get around squabbles at the dinner table revolving around food selections. If so, I hope you too will find the following recipe for healthy chips to be useful in this battle of the food wills. I make a note of always referring to them as “crisps” so that the little ones become accustomed to thinking of baked as another way of cooking crisps. Then I pair it with a dip of some sort that I know they have previously given the thumbs up.

Just cut pitas into triangle sections and brush with extra virgin olive oil. Place on a baking sheet in the oven on the broil setting for a little under two minutes. Poof, so easy and so well received. You now have a low fat side that everyone is certain to enjoy.
